Whether you just want a new toy, or are looking for a techy gift idea, here are 7 of the coolest gadgets that we have our eyes on at the moment.

Ring Video Doorbell 2 - $329

RingVideoDoorbell2

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 is the latest update to the smart home catalogue of products.

The Ring Video Doorbell 2 upgrades the humble doorbell to include a video intercom system and remote monitoring as well as providing your home with a simple security camera you can monitor.

When someone presses the doorbell, a notification is sent to your phone and/or smartwatch allowing you to see who is there and speak to them. You can also setup zones around the doorbell that alert you to when there is movement, as the Ring Doorbell is connected via the cloud, you get these notifications wherever you are.

Although it is quite expensive for a doorbell, the Ring Video Doorbell 2 is a useful little device that can add a layer of security to your home.

Galaxy S9

S9

If you’re an Apple person, skip this and read the next section, if you are a Samsung fan, keep reading.

The S9 is a nice phone with an excellent camera and great screen. Its performance and battery life are far better than its predecessors and its camera is better than any other phone on the market.

If emojis matter to you, the AR Emojis aren’t great, but overall this is a really nice looking phone that performs really well.

iPhone X

iPhone X

Apple reader, you have skipped to the right section.

The iPhone X is another impressive looking phone that has a luxurious look and feel to it. Face ID is a nice touch, but the best thing about this phone is the beautiful display.

The iPhone has much better AR Emojis (Animojis) but it doesn’t have a headphone jack.

Both of these phones are great, it really comes down to preference over brands and operating systems these days.
