Everything you need to know about IT and technology

We often talk about the importance of flexibility and productivity in a business and solutions that you can easily implement.

The majority of people now have at least two monitors at their desk, it allows them to quickly switch between different windows and work efficiently with all the information right there in front of them. If you’re anything like me, one of the most frustrating things about travelling is having to use my tiny laptop screen to get any work done. It’s hard to imagine that this was life about 10 years ago, but here we are.

It was reported last year that the average person owns 3 devices, with more recent reports suggesting this is quickly moving towards 5. With all these devices are we missing a trick by using them all separately?

Short answer, yes.

There is a fix for this problem, or as we often hear; there’s an app for that.

Duet Display is an application developed by ex-Apple engineers that allows you to turn your Apple device into a second screen. The app delivers Retina-level clarity at 60 frames per second without any lag, it achieves this through the Lightning connection.

It’s a very impressive, and very portable dual-display setup with zero lag, unlike traditional screen-sharing apps that rely upon Wi-Fi.

There are two tiers to this app with Duet Display and Duet Display Pro. The Pro version also allows you to turn your iPad into a drawing tablet using Apple Pencil. Duet Display is available on iTunes for $14.99 and the Pro version for $28.99.

The app only works on iPads and iPhones but is compatible with both Apple and Windows laptops, you will need to download the app on your Apple device and then install software from the Duet webpage on your laptop. Setup is super easy and the laptop recognises the device straightaway.

Using Duet Display alongside a Cloud platform means you can work quickly and easily from anywhere without compromising on accessibility of performance.
